About this Review

This review of Bisto Box meal delivery will be like the ones I did for FUEL Weekly (perfect for KETO and calorie-conscious) and NOSH (Awesome for Vegans across Korea). I’ll tell you right now, I’m fond of all three choices. I couldn’t pick a favorite meal delivery option if you paid me. NOSH has some meals that I crave like their Peanut Stew.

What I Learned Eating Bistro Box

When the Bistro Box PR samples arrived I was more prepared than when the Nosh PR samples arrived. I knew that my life was about to get easier. They also arrived at the perfect time when the impact of the political conflict had displaced family members leaving us all in shock. Bistro Box helped fill in the gaps while I had a stress-induced zombie brain. I desperately needed help with daily living tasks.

I ate my burrito standing over the school microwave. You didn’t want to see that photo.

Honestly, I did not need vegan food at that point in time either. I needed lasagna, meatballs, pasta, burritos, and comfort foods. As mentioned in my Nosh post, I’m not vegan and I added additional meat protein to my Nosh meals. With Bistro Box I don’t need to make modifications to my diet. The heartier meals with Bistro Box met my needs much better than Nosh.

After another week of having my food prepped for me, I realized (again) that (if you have the financial resources) ordering meals should a standard practice. It makes dealing with the stress of living through life’s struggles more manageable. It’s one less thing you have to emotionally manage in the day.

About the photos for this blog, I had to write Bistro Box and ask them for photos. I only managed to take one photo of my food due to * emotional damage *. Thankfully Bistro Box kindly forgave me and sent some plated photos. Keep in mind that nothing looks as pretty once it’s frozen and shipped. However, it still tastes quite nice.

Bistro Box Provides an Option for Meatlovers

Bistro Box provides a menu filled with meat-filled comfort foods. Many other wonderful and needed meal delivery businesses focused on special diets like vegan, keto, or only gluten-free. However, it’s nice for English-speaking international residents in South Korea to have an option that’s just homemade food.

Bistro Box Offers Substantial Meal Portions

Similar to Nosh’s vegan meals, Bistro Box portions felt large to me. I’m used to smaller portions so it Bistro Box meals push me a little past full. I think, for most people, it will be just the right about.

What I Will Order Again with Bistro Box

I think about the lasagna and peanut stew often. Also, any of the meals include a bed of mashed potatoes. I lean toward the carb-rich meals and meals with lots of spicy or rich sauces. I’m a huge lover of flavor so I stay away from anything that seems on the mellow side.

Who Will Love Bistro Box?

Let’s take a quick look at who I think will find Bistro Box an answer to their problems.

These potatoes made life better.

Gluten-Free Meat Lovers

Since Bistro Box management understands the importance of specialty diets they do provide gluten-free options. The mark each menu item to clarify gluten-free status.

People Quarantining

Like all educators these days, our house needs to navigate COVID-19 quarantine situations. Having frozen meals that we can microwave in our rooms changed our lives. Absolutely have prepped meals in your freezer for just such an occasion. Having these meals means no cooking needed, no delivery needed, and less trash in your room. A true lifesaver.

Educators

Non-vegan educators who don’t eat in the school cafeteria will love Bistro Box. You can take a break from doing your own meal prep every once in a while. We do this when our lives get a bit out of control with evening and weekend commitments.

Anyone Living Alone Who Hates Cooking and Eating Out

Not everyone wants to cook but that doesn’t mean they want to go out or order out. Bistro Box means you can eat homemade food at home without cooking. Go ahead and just make this your life plan. You don’t have to punish yourself when there are easy solutions like Bistro Box.

Bistro Box Offers Pricing Packages

Bistro Box offers discounts up to 20% for ordering multiple meals. This can make ordering food for the week a little more affordable. With a 20% discount on ordering 12 meals at a time your weekly work lunch cost with Bistro Box would be about 182,400 KRW a month. That’s about 7,600 KRW per meal. It’s not cheap but not that expensive either. Worth it to avoid all the prep, shopping, and emotional labor.
