These are some of the South of Seoul Facebook groups that allow free business posting related to the topic of the group. Some groups only allow posting on certain days or by certain types of businesses:

  • Business Types: Restaurants, cafes, clubs, classes, and entertainment.

  • Business Types: Lifestyle content such as health, wellness, shopping, employment, etc. Restaurants, Cafes, & Bars should post in Pyeongtaek Food & Fun.

  • Business Types: Tour companies, places to stay, transportation, and other travel-related content.

Business ‘Best Practice’ Guidelines for South of Seoul Facebook Groups

Defining a Business Post: A business post is any post made by the business owners, staff, family members, or affiliated people, such as marketing support, to promote a business.

1. Submit your Business Information to the South of Seoul Database

Send your business information to southofseoul@gmail.com.

2. Post only on Allowed Days

Post once a week on the day allowed for each group. creates a

3. Keep Your Content Interesting

If a business always shares the same posts with the same photos every single week, we will start to edit them out. Why do we do this? To save the business from itself. Our community is very active. When people see the same post for the 6th week in a row, they either 1) stop caring or 2) get irritated. Neither is a good response for the business. We step in and try to save businesses from themselves.

4. Answer Community Questions

A great way to improve your customer relationships is by providing information to the community. Offer information and answers to questions unrelated to the business. Demonstrate empathy and humanity to build community.

5. Make the Community Feel Special, Offer Something

We welcome business members to offer specials and unique opportunities to community members. These can be posted any time you like. Be creative with this. Don’t bribe people with “Food for posts,” but offer something real and from the heart. We are all people who want to be cared for and seen. Members of our communities provide a lot of help to both businesses and incoming expats. Say thank you by:

• Offering 10% off for group all members on a day you are normally slow.
• Offer a free (cola, dessert, etc.) to the next 10 members that come by your business and spend —— won or more.
• Invite them to a special tasting event for new menu items.
• Post a poll about something you need to know and enter their name in a raffle.

6. Host Free community-building events and invite the community to come!

We allow businesses to post information for special FREE events any day of the week. FREE events are huge community builders, and we love them!! Keep those event posts coming.

• Need community members to create a league of some sort? Post it.
• Have a free event coming up that socially benefits others in some way? Post it.

Other than that, we have some other recommendations and rules:

• Keep it fresh
• Keep it interesting
• Keep in positive (No trying to bring anyone down)
• Keep it community-focused
• Remain open to feedback. Our rules change based on community needs. We may have to reach out and ask you to change things.

Rules for communicating with the South of Seoul team

Do not message group moderators individually.

Our volunteers are required to only answer South of Seoul questions via official South of Seoul channels. We do this to ensure information can be clear and consistently communicated within South of Seoul. Thank you for understanding our desire to be focused and professional in all our volunteer activities.

Do not harass or cause an issue for other businesses.

South of Seoul believes that we are better when we stand together. Business owners who message South of Seoul in an attempt to privately undermine the status of other businesses may – themselves – be deleted from all South of Seoul Facebook groups. This also includes talking negatively about other businesses while posting in the group or harassing another business in comments.

Do not create stress or harass South of Seoul volunteers.

South of Seoul volunteers serve the community at will. We share information and create tools for our community in our free time. Any businesses that create unnecessary physical work or emotional labor for volunteers may be deleted permanently from the South of Seoul Facebook groups.

We love how involved the local businesses are in our online communities, and we look forward to growing together!

South of Seoul reserves the right to update and change these guidelines at any time as the groups grow and evolve.

What happens if my business doesn’t follow the Guidelines?

Businesses that do not comply with business posting guidelines may be permanently banned from the Facebook groups and their previous content deleted.
