How to Get to Daejeon
If you’re coming from Pyeongtaek or Camp Humphreys, this would be an easy one-hour or one-and-a-half-hour drive. Daejeon serves as a hub of transportation for major rail and road routes, and is approximately 50 minutes from the capital, Seoul, by KTX or SRT high-speed rail.
About Daejeon
Daejeon, located in the central region of South Korea along the Geum River, is known both for its technology and research institutions. Previously known as ‘big field,’ Daejeon is surrounded by several mountains, with Gyeryongsan National Park on the west and the Sobaek Mountain range to the south and east.
Three rivers run through the center of the city: Gapcheon (갑천), Yudeungcheon (유등천), and Daejeoncheon (대전천). These flow roughly from south to north, eventually joining the Geum River which borders the city on the northeast. The river changes direction after leaving Daejeon, turning to the southwest and eventually emptying into the Yellow Sea near Gunsan.

The Fan Seating area, above the Home Dugout, is the loudest and more crowded area. Full view of the dancers and mascots, and close to lots of food options. If you’d rather be further away, there are also booths, table seating, and picnic areas. You select your seats at the tickets booth, when you arrive, or online in advance, but may require a Korean credit card. The ticket booth did not accept any of our American bank cards, so bring cash, just in case.
Your bags will be checked upon entry but you may bring in your own water bottles. Don’t worry about food, you’ll have many choices inside. The games take place in the evening so we would recommend leaving early due to both traffic and parking.
