15 Best Restaurants Near Osan Air Base

Are you hungry and looking to try something new near the Osan Air Base area? Then, check out one of these fabulous restaurants for your next lunch or dinner!

Where is Osan Air Base?

Osan Air Base is a US Air Force Base located in Singjang-dong, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. The area may also be called Songtan by both international residents and many Koreans who work with international residents. However, when people reference Songtan they may also be referencing Seojeong-dong, Jisan-dong, or parts of Godeok as well. Clarifying locations with exact addresses becomes important when sharing information for locations in this area.

How We Chose Our Favorites for This List

We are the Kimchi Rednecks and we have lived in the Osan Air Base area for the past 5 years. Over that time, these are the restaurants that we gravitate to the most often because they are what we crave. Often when we are in the area and don’t know what we want, we can just walk into one of these restaurants and it’s exactly what we need.

These restaurants hit our palate in all the right notes which makes us want to return to them often when we are in the area. Additionally, these restaurants offer options that do not include seafood which is a priority for us. However, we aren’t gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegan so we don’t take these restrictions into consideration when choosing our favorites.

You can even find many YouTube reviews for our favorite restaurants on our Kimchi Rednecks YouTube channel. With this in mind, make sure to review our 15 best places near Osan Air Force Base list, and then don’t forget to check out our other reviews on our channel.

Bao Tonkatsu Near Osan Air Base
Bao Tonkatsu

The majority of the restaurants on this list are in the Sinjang-dong area outside of Osan Air Force Base (which is about a 10-minute walk from Songtan Station). This area mostly caters to international residents but there are some Korean restaurants in the area offering a variety of options to try. Most of these restaurants are along Sinjang Shopping Street which some may refer to as the SED (Songtan Entertainment District), Osan Ville, Songtan, or other names depending on your community.

We did choose a few locations that were a bit further out but within 10 minutes from the Osan Air Base area by car. However, we felt they were worth the drive and those locations do have parking available.

Remember the term “best” is subjective. Therefore, what we deem to be our favorites or the best food options in this area might just be “just okay” to your taste buds. One of the things we love about the Pyeongtaek Food & Fun group on Facebook is that we all share things that we love. While not every place shared is everyone’s cup of tea, it creates conversations and opportunities to try new places and step out of our comfort zones.

Also, please remember to check out the South of Seoul app and leave reviews for those places you visit so others can enjoy them too!
