About the Southwestern Taean Coastline
Along the Southwest coastline of Taean, just before you reach Anmyeondo Island, you’ll find a beautiful selection of neighboring beaches – Mongsanpo, Dalsanpo, Mageompo, and Cheongpodae Beaches. Just Mongsanpo alone is about three kilometers long.
What is a pension?
Pensions are like the Korean version of a Bed and Breakfast, except without someone else making you breakfast. They are rooms, cabins, or spaces that having a sleeping, cooking, and dining space so that you can easily spend a weekend away without ever leaving your own room.
Pensions are also often owned by families that live on the grounds or in the same building. This means they often have a very casual, laid-back feeling and you might end up spending all night hanging with new friends.

Reasons to Visit the Southwestern Taean Coast Year-round
These are white sand beaches with mudflats at low tide. The water tends to be one to two meters deep. Great location for families, as there’s lots of space for children and dogs to run free. If it’s beach time that you’re looking for, you’ll surely find a spot along this long stretch of beaches.
Even if these mudflat-type beaches are not your style BUT you DO want a relaxing weekend, with an ocean view, without having to drive 3.5 to 4 hrs to the East or South coasts, then consider checking into a coastal pension with a swimming pool.

Buying Groceries to Cook in Your Taean Pension
Finally, if you need to pick up groceries, there’s a 24-hr E Mart and other convenience stores next to Nature World, as well as small grocery stores sparsely spread near beaches. You will find marts of all sizes across Taean.
