About Pumpkin Spice Lattes in Pyeongtaek
US ex-pats are very lucky in Pyeongtaek because a few coffee shops cater to our weird fixation with pumpkin spice by creating their own homemade recipes. Each pumpkin spice recipe is a little different and all of them are pretty darn tasty.
These lattes are not going to taste like Starbucks. Instead, they are rich and sweet concoctions that have been taste-tested and tweaked for each cafe’s customers’ taste. I think you are going to love them.
Culture Points About Pumpkin Spice Lattes
Please remember “Pumpkin Lattes” are NOT the same as “Pumpkin Spice Lattes”. Pumpkin lattes are full of flavor and a wonderful Korean fall treat. They are pumpkin and milk with no coffee and no spices. I get them at Starbucks and have them add coffee. Try Pumpkin Lattes but don’t confuse them with Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

Indie Cafes v Starbucks
Indie Cafes make better pumpkin spice lattes in our opinion. In 2021 Starbucks began offering US-style pumpkin spice lattes in Korea. However, the Korean Starbucks version tended to be weak in spice flavor and high in sugar. It felt boring and too sweet after years of magical homemade versions.
