Living in Pyeongtaek-si,  Pyeongtaek Neighborhoods

Explore Jinwi-myeon, Pyeongtaek

Want to know more about Pyeongtaek? Let’s explore one of its most beautiful areas, Jinwi-myeon. A quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city.

About Pyeongtaek-si and South of Seoul

Pyeongtaek-si (평택시) is made up of many different, unique little neighborhoods. Over the last 2 years Pyeongtaek neighborhoods have been reorganized, a new address system created, and – often – completely new names assigned. Combine this with the constantly changing English Speaking population that rotates through each year, and life becomes like a big game of Telephone as half of the information turns into mythical information. That’s where South of Seoul comes in.

We are on the ground and updating the South of Seoul app each time we are alerted to a change or inconsistency. We also let folks know of why things are weird and the tricks to getting around these inconsistencies so life becomes smoother. Which means…. always let us know if a business is closed, a new one has opened, or something isn’t working right! We make those changes and keep things running smoothly. Now let’s learn about a local neighborhood:

About Jinwi-myeon

Jinwi Confucion School

Located in the upper right corner of Pyeongtaek-si, Jinwi-myeon is one of the hillier areas of the Administrative District. The neighborhood of Jinwi has begun to grow as more factories move into the area, but it still hosts beautiful hiking trails and a lovely, quiet river to walk or ride your bike along. It’s the perfect spot for kids to get their energy out and for outdoor lovers to find a little peace and quiet.

Additionally, Jinwi hosts the majority of Pyeongtaek-si’s key tourist attractions. We will share some of these locations further along in this post.

Jinwi Subway Station

Jinwi-myeon has one subway stop. It’s on Seoul Line 1 which goes south to Asan and north to Seoul. You can easily hop off here with your bike on a weekend to enjoy reading around this rural community.

경기 평택시 진위면 경기대로 1855

Description:

Jinwi Station offers you access to one of the more rural and scenic areas of Pyeongtaek with a variety of cultural cites. The area also offers access to hiking, a scenic river, and an outdoor recreation area. We recommend bringing a bike or electric scooter since things are rural and spread out. Trains do not regularly stop at this station and express subways skip it as well.
