Jjimjilbbangs: 5 Steps To Getting Started

    October 23, 2015 /

Thanks to Nicole for the photo. It’s a face mask explosion. So, maybe you read the last post and are all like, “What ‘evs Nae-nae. My buttocks aren’t clenched and I want to get them to a jjimjilbang stat. I just need to know what exactly to expect . I don’t want to seem like a crazy foreigner.”  That’s legit. Here are the answers to the questions I had when I first wanted to go. What’s a jjimjilbang? First of all, you should know that jjimjilbangs and public baths are not the same…

    Beaches

    October 23, 2015 /

Maps and beaches. These are two of my favorite things. Mostly because one leads to the other. The water is shallow, there are sand crabs to chase, rocks to climb on, trees to rest under, and its away from the insanity. Pro Tip: Leave Pyeongtaek by 9:00am for best results.  And NEVER take the main toll…

    Jjimjilbangs are Heaven

    October 23, 2015 /

Alright, to be clear, I’m a jimjillbong/public bath-addict.  Sometimes I wonder if I should just move into one and stop paying rent on my house.  It took me about nine months to get up the nerve to give one a try, and immediately felt like it was nine months of my life I had wasted. Maybe I’m weird, but I can’t see why anyone would say no to a 9,000 spa day. I encourage everyone to give it a try at least once. Of course, your are going to need…

    Futball in Suwon Trip Itinerary

    August 18, 2015 /

About Futbal In South Korea The Korean Futbal Season runs from February through October. However, the schedule may be adjusted during a pandemic. Cities across South Korea have teams that compete around the country. Most are sponsored by major corporations. Pyeongtaek even has a team that practices out of the Stadium in Bijeon-dong. Getting to the Suwon Soccer Stadium While at work my friend messaged me to see if I wanted to watch a soccer game in Suwon. Since I’ve never had the privilege of watching a live soccer game…

Outdoor swimming pool in pyeongtaek South Korea

Pyeongtaek: To Do Water Park Nothing says Friday like going to Cheonan Sangnok Resort  to swim and play with all of the students. Of course, I would come here with adults as well. Small but substantial – this is a great place for summer fun for everyone. Outside is quiet during rain, but hopping on sunny days. Inside is always busy, but not too busy on weekdays. The longest line on Friday was three people. Plus, it’s only about 1 hour from Pyeongtaek,  so it’s easy and way less stressful…

    Mudfest is the Best

    June 19, 2015 /

CHECK OUT THIS YEARS MUDFEST VIDEO FROM ROK LIFE < CLICK HERE > After many years, I finally made it back for a little Mudfest drama.  Despite all the reasons I want to hate Mudfest, I love it.  In fact, I have found that the more someone doesn’t want to go, the more they seem to fall in love with it when they arrive.   Of course, in three years a lot has changed.  For example, there were actually clean people at the festival.  I have no idea how this…
