Where is Pyeongtaek?

Feel free to skip this section if you live in Pyeongtaek or know about the area. However, if you don’t know about Pyeongtaek, let’s get to know this a little bit about small town with lots to offer.

Pyeongtaek-si is located in the southern portion of the Gyeonggi-do province. In addtion, this large city includes both US military installations, Camp Humphreys and Osan Air Base.

The animal clinics and hospitals provided exist within different areas of Pyeongtaek-si. In this blog post, South of Seoul provides addresses and phone numbers. Additionally, we recommend using this information in either Naver Maps or Kakao Maps for the best results. As a result, such apps help you figure out how far each restaurant might be from you.

Veterinary Care in Korea

Veterinary care services are essential to ensure your pet’s health and well-being. Therefore, those of us with furry companions often worry about their health more than our own. When moving to a new town, local veterinarians and animal clinics are often one of the first things a pet family begins to research. Researching veterinarians and emergency care can be even more daunting when moving to a new country, not just a new city.

Most veterinary services here in Korea require prior notification of your arrival. Even when you are trying to reach emergency service, it is critical that you call ahead to make sure that they have everything ready for your arrival.

While living in Korea, miscommunications can happen very easily. Even when a vet speaks English or an expat speaks Korean, misunderstandings still occur. In this case, feel free to reach out to services like 1330 for assistance contacting clinics for appointments. Also, save the useful phrase list that we have put together to help you communicate better.

This is a curated list designed to give community members a starting place of clinics and veterinarians in Pyeongtaek. South of Seoul does not endorse nor have they vetted these clinics. Therefore, it is up to you to determine if their services and qualifications meet your needs.

Animal Clinics and Hospitals in Pyeongtaek

Emergency Animal Hospitals in Pyeongtaek

If you are in an emergency situation, the following animal hospitals are open and accept emergencies. Although, they are termed “24-hour,” that may have an alternate meaning as of 2022:

• The hospital remains fully open until 24:00 and then closes until the morning.
• The hospital remains open through the night with doctors on call.
• The hospital is staffed 24 hours with doctors (very rare and usually only in large cities)

This means that we recommend visiting your local 24-hour vet to fully understand how they operate. Don’t wait until there is an emergency.
