Where is Pyeongtaek?
Pyeongtaek-si is located in the southern portion of the Gyeonggi-do province. This large city includes both US military installations, Camp Humphreys and Osan Air Base.

Since this encompasses both military installations, we recommend contacting the restaurant to determine if they will cater to your function (based on distance). - What type of food do you want for the event?
- Are there any dietary restrictions?
- How many guests?
- Will you need the food delivered and set up off-site by the caterer?
- Will you be picking up the food and setting up?
- Do you need additional items like plates, utensils, tables, or chairs?
- How will the food be served? Will servers need to be provided?
Also, you should keep in mind that sometimes the catering menu differs from the restaurant’s daily menu. Without a doubt, there are many restaurants that will available to meet your catering options in Pyeongtaek.
Cultural Notes
When coordinating catering options the following issues often arise:
- Communication issues: Even when we work with English-speaking businesses, we find that communication often takes more work than we originally planned.
- Scheduling issues: Make sure to explicitly clarify setup and takedown expectations. While some restaurants may understand “starts at 8” as the time to show up and begin setting up, you will need to be VERY clear about each step of your schedule.
- Never assume anything: Never, at any point, assume something is included or something will be done. Although many businesses have worked with western clients, each client also has its own expectations. In addition, you can’t assume they worked with clients who have the same expectations as you.
Generally speaking, you will always be happier with over clarification. While it may be a challenge when coordinating your catered event in a foreign country, hopefully with the above notes, it will make planning with your catering options in Pyeongtaek easier.
