What you will find in Yeosu
If you’re traveling to Yeosu, then you’re looking for a destination that is not only beautiful but warm for most of the year. Yeosu is a small peninsula with 317 islands, only 49 of them are inhabited. Despite its size, there are tons of things to do here, including beaches, such as Maseongri Black Sand Beach.
Hopefully, this blog will help you to choose a hotel, resort, or pension that fits your needs. I’ve included some highlights in their amenities but keep in mind that hotels have closed or discontinued certain amenities because of COVID19. For example, Hidden Bay Hotel closed their kids’ playground but the fitness room and pool were still available. Or some hotels may have discontinued their breakfast service. If you are selecting a hotel for a specific feature, always check in advance. You can call 1330 to get help in English with any questions related to your hotel.
Additionally, most amenities, including pool use, have entrance fees. Guests often have a discounted fee. You may purchase tickets to other attractions, such as Aquaplanet and Cable Cars, from most hotels in the area. Check their websites, as they may also offer tours.
A little about the island of Odongdo in Yeosu
This specific part of Yeosu is a hub for many attractions within walking distance, such as, Yeosu EXPO Station (in case you’d rather not drive), ziplines, boat rentals, Odongdo Island & Jasan Park (the island includes a short hike to a lighthouse and / a cave with a fascinating dragon story) and The Big-O, which lights up at night along with the rest of the marina. Other attractions within walking distance,

Odongdo Island
On the Jasan Station side of the cable car ride is a 20 minute walk to this island. Many beautiful views and paths that will lead to either the lighthouse or a cave with a fascinating dragon story.

All suites and luxury rooms have spectacular views but the real experience is the sculpture park above the resort. You may bring a stroller, I did, but youll have to push it up hill. The sculpture park entrance takes you through a hallway light exhibit and you exit into a park of wonders, where Midas Hand is the main attraction. Theres a buffet restaurant, BBQ restaurant, food court, and cafes on the property, including one in the park. Theres also a convenience store and a circus across the street.

Considered a boutique resort, which is known for their high swing. You may purchase tickets to the swing and dress rentals in the cafe. I did not opt for the rental dress but they will definitely boost your Instagram likes. Rooms have ocean views, villas may include your very own pool. Theres also a skywalk, kidszone, BBQ zone, and infinity pool. The cafe has a stairway to heaven, which you may access as long as you have purchased something from the cafe, if youre not a guest.

If you want to stay in Yeosu, still have an amazing view, but dont want to stay at a location with a lot of foot traffic, this is your spot. Its impossible to find a room without a gorgeous ocean view. The amenities include a kids cafe (which, as I said earlier, is closed because of COVID19), an indoor and outdoor pool, a sauna, a fitness room, a restaurant that serves buffet breakfast on the weekends and a la carte on the weekdays, as well as lunch and dinner, and a lounge with alcohol, smoothies, and coffee. The food is great, the view is even better. No cafe style coffee, but if you take a short walk along the coastline, which you may access from the parking lot outside the hotel, youll find a cafe just a minute away. Amenities include a fitness room, sauna, indoor and outdoor pool, kids playground (which is currently closed because of the pandemic), restaurant which serves all meals, including room service. Everything includes an additional fee, including the pool, which is cheaper for guests. You can purchase tickets to the cable cars and Aquaplanet from the front desk. Hotel restaurant has toys and coloring books to entertain the kids.
Things to do in Yeosu

Yeosu Cable Cars
Great if you want to see Yeosu from above and enjoy a cable car experience. There are cafes, Korean food options, and convenience stores at both stops. If you have children and want to make a day trip out of this experience without having to worry about driving around and parking. Park at Dolsan side, catch the cable cars to Jasan side, and spend the day walking around. From the Jasan side, you can walk and take a hike up Odongdo Island. Theres a spitting cave with a cool dragon story and a lighthouse. Bring walking shoes and sunscreen. You can also access a street and take a short walk to Aqua Planet, a zipline, cafes, restaurants, and hotels. If you dont want to climb the many stops from the Jasan Cable Car stop, theres an elevator and walkway. Dont forget to look for the angel wings for a photo opportunity at the Jasan station.

Staying in Yeosu for Business
While we did not stay in Yeosu for business, most hotels also have a business center. Many of them will allow access to their facilities, regardless of whether or not you’re a guest, with an entrance fee. So even if you don’t opt to stay at any of these recommended locations, I would still encourage that you visit them.
