Who loves Sosabeol but sometimes feels overwhelmed by the choices?
The multitude of buildings in Sosabeol, with many floors to visit, are filled with so many dining options it is easy to become overwhelmed. No one wants to sort through that much new information when they are hangry. That’s why I am here to share 10 restaurants commonly recommended in the Pyeongtaek Food & Fun group that I also may enjoy visiting regularly. Once you have tried these spots, you will feel empowered to try many more.
Things to Know Before You Go to Sosabeol for Dinner
Parking can be tricky. If you park where you eat or play you can often get an hour of free parking. You need to show your license plate number to the cashier when you check out. You can’t usually show receipts when you leave as parking is un-manned. If you do not have a Korean bank account you may have trouble paying for parking.
Traffic on weekend evenings and holidays. Things can get a bit hectic during popular times of the week or year. That means it might take you 20-30 minutes to park once you arrive. It’s not common, but it happens when things are busy so just be prepared for this on a Friday night. Don’t worry about it, just know it happens.
Break-time from 3pm – 5pm. Most restaurants (but not all) will take a rest between lunch and dinner service. You will also need to be seated by 2:15pm since they will close at 3pm.

This is a very unique restaurant that serves succulent chicken in a bed of cheese inside of a bread bubble. Hard to explain, but a must try.

Sous Vide Chicken Pub is one of my absolute favorites because they light my food on fire and the food is delicious. The Chicken Pub also brews some of its beers and has English menus. I’m a huge fan of going here for birthdays or just for fun.

Pizzeria Danilo
Instagram: danilo.jeong.jihak From Pyeongtaek Food & Fun user Aly RL, wanted to share a delicous brick-oven pizzeria that I recently stumbled upon in Sosabel. The pizza is made right there in front of you after you order. The menu is a touch screen pad that has English as an option. There was a 20 minute wait while I visited during the lunch time hour but it was definitely worth the wait. There are only 10 bar stools facing the oven so the place is small. Outdark Chicken Sosabeol
Fantastic Korean fried chicken and beer. An excellent place to hangout witu friends. All of their chicken comes from Korea.

A popular Japanese restaurant started by a local chef. The food is beautiful and delicious. Seating is intimate so its not great for large groups. Closed for Breaktine from 15:00-17:00

I am a Shokuji addict. This Japanese diner is located on the edge of Sosabeol and they also have many locations around town. The Sosabeol location remains one of my favorites. I love the interior and the vibe. There is often a waiting list so be ready for that when you go. It is worth the wait.

Some of the best pork cutlet you can find. The restaurant prides itself in handmade dishes using quality meats and ingredients. Only a limited number of cheese tongkatsu dishes are available each day.

3 Sambaekdon Donkatus makes my absolute favorite donkatsu/tonkatsu in Pyeongtaek. For me, nothing else even compares. I like to get the mix-set because everything they make is delicious. They don’t have tons of tables so it’s best for a date night or groups of four.

Located above Burger King, this is an all you can eat salad bar shabu shabu joint. Great for vegetable lovers. You get to make fresh rolls with your shabu shabu.

Sometimes I just want to eat a lot of vegetables. That’s when I go to Vietnamese Shabu-Shabu AYCE since they offer all the veggies I can eat. I never regret this healthy meal.

Located on the second floor, this delicious beef and noodle shabu shabu restaurant does not disappoint. It’s also very affordable.

DeungChon ShabuShabu Sosabeol is another classic Korean chain we have been enjoying for the last 10 years. Shabu-shabu lovers are going to adore the broth and Korean veggies. We are still a little addicted after all these years.

Casa di Luca is a spot I haven’t visited but it’s often recommended in Pyeongtaek Food & Fun. Since I don’t eat a lot of pasta or pizza I’ve just never gotten around to trying this lovely little restaurant. Based on the recommendations of others though, I think pasts and pizza lovers need to give them a try.

When we want Korean BBQ we head to HwaHwa Pork BBQ. This is a restaurant chain that offers a solid assortment of delicious side dishes.
