From Lasyarati in Pyrongtaek Food & Fun: Today I visited an indoor zoo with my husband and I want to share this place with you guys! The zoo’s name is 캐니언파크 평택 and the address is Gyeonggido Pyeongtaeksi Bijeon 5ro 10 3F (It is located on the 3rd floor of the building / I think Its a little hard to get here without a car but parking is free for three hours.) At the middle of the zoo is an arcade and boat area that requires additional pay. But at the end there is a playzone for kids and no addditional charge. I didn’t show all of the photos of all of the animals I saw, but there are many more. If you pay $2 when you’re inside, you can get veggies to feed the animals but this is card only. As long as you keep your wristband, you can freely go in and out of the zoo for 6 hours using the QR code • Children under 36 months old are free entry into the zoo.

Cherry picking at an orchard, about 30 minutes from Osan Air Base but still in Pyeongtaek. Information in picture with green sign. Free parking. Also has picnic area and restrooms on the grounds. Cherry picking ends at end of June. You cannot take backpacks nor purses to the orchard. You leave them in the car or in the bins provided at entrance. You get a plastic cup with dome lid to put your cherries. Pay in cash. You get 30 minutes to fill your cup. You can eat while you pick. Cherry picking — just 5mins from the Humphreys main gate. 20,000 won (15,000 kids) for the whole experience, all you can eat cherries and you get to bring home a 500ml cupful of cherries!

Through South of Seoul, Ms. Rivers-Woods works with independent volunteers, non-profit organizations, businesses, local & federal government, universities, and US military organizations to develop solutions to support English speaking international residents in rural South Korea. Additionally, Ms. Rivers-Woods founded the South of Seoul smart phone app available for Google Play and iPhone. The app provides information a resources for those living and traveling in South Korea. When she isn't in South of Seoul development meetings or working her day job, Ms. Rivers-Woods loves to be outside at skate parks, the beach, or playing in the mountains.
