Are you looking for a taste of home and need to get your belly full of cheesesteaks in the Pyeongtaek area? Then, here are six spots where you can find that delicious beefy, cheesy goodness. Where is Pyeongtaek? Feel free to skip this section if you live in Pyeongtaek or know about the area. However, if you don’t know about Pyeongtaek, let’s get to know this small town with lots of Food & Fun. Pyeongtaek-si is located in the southern portion of the Gyeonggi-do province. In addtion, this large city includes both US military installations, Camp Humphreys and Osan Air Base. The cheesesteak recommendations provided exist within different areas of Pyeongtaek-si. Therefore, in this blog post, South of Seoul provides addresses and phone numbers. Additionally, we recommend using this information in either Naver Maps or Kakao Maps for the best results. As a result, such apps help you figure out how far each restaurant might be from you. How Are Korean Cheesesteaks Different from Philly Cheesesteaks? Three things characterize the iconic Philly Cheesesteak from Philadelphia: the bread with soft insides and crunchy exterior, the cut of meat (typically ribeye), and the cheese (cheese whiz, American, provolone, or a mixture of the three). Therefore, “who has the best Philly cheesesteak?” debates often bring out many controversial opinions in the states. While Korean cheesesteaks deliver fabulous sandwiches and tastes, they may not adhere to the same guidelines for which cheesesteaks in Philadelphia are known. In our experiences, we have found that the breads most often used for cheesesteaks here are a bit softer overall, the cut of meat cut varies quite a bit, and no cheese whiz is yet to be found. Since each person brings different experiences and tastes to the table, remember that what you find to be the best or the closest to a Philly cheesesteak may be different for someone else. Consequently, we recommend trying several locations to see which location offers your favorite version. Also, be prepared for this to be a controversial topic when choosing who makes the best cheesesteak locally! While living in Korea, we have found some fantastic cheesesteaks. Also, if you have not experienced a bulgogi cheesesteak, it is a delicious fusion food in several local restaurants that you should try. There are many restaurants in the area creating their own fusion versions of cheesesteaks and should definitely be tried! Best Cheesesteaks in Pyeongtaek Locations that Offer Bulgogi Cheesesteaks Check Out KimchiRednecks’ Cheesesteaks in Pyeongtaek Videos Neither Chuck or Melissa are from Philadelphia. However, Melissa has been to Philadelphia and tried two of the most famous local cheesesteaks, Geno’s and Pat’s. When we decided to do our cheesesteak battle, we also contacted our friend, Jerry Tiede, who is from the area for our cheesesteak criteria. Since we know this is a hotly debated topic, we prefer to refer to cheesesteaks in Korea as simply cheesesteaks. Just like in the states, there are many places that make fabulous cheesesteaks but that does not make them the iconic “Philly Cheesesteak.” We leave it up to you as to whether you find that to be a good or bad thing. Honestly, we just love good cheesesteaks and supporting our community businesses! We have ventured out to enjoy several of the cheesesteaks in Pyeongtaek. Certainly, you will find that we have some favorite places when you check out our videos. However, we will continue to enjoy cheesesteaks at the other local locations. Obviously, we appreciate the unique flavor options that each business brings to the table. Therefore, don’t be surprised to find us enjoying a cheesesteak at any local restaurants or finding a new favorite. While we don’t video all our food adventures, we try to get as many local places as possible to support our community. Check out our YouTube page to see our restaurant reviews, cooking videos and more. We are constantly adding new content. In addition, you can find us on Facebook and Instagram for updates on life, videos and more. How to Source Additional Information About Locations If you have questions about things like business hours, you can use the free foreigner support app/phone number 1330. Also, using apps like Naver can help you navigate with expected traffic times. Join the Pyeongtaek Food & Fun Facebook Group You are also welcome to join our Pyeongtaek Food & Fun Facebook Group. Pasta Near Osan Air Base https://blog.southofseoul.net/best-pasta-near-osan-air-base/ Tue, 28 Jun 2022 06:15:37 +0000 https://blog.southofseoul.net/?p=8985 KimchiRednecks

Have you been looking for the best pasta near Osan Air Force Base? Then, here are the five spots that international residents often vote for in the Pyeongtaek Food & Fun poll from this area each year. Where is Osan Air Base? Feel free to skip this section if you live in the Osan Air Base area or know about the area. Osan Air Base is a US Air Force Base located in Singjang-dong, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. The area may also be called Songtan by both international residents and many Koreans who work with international residents. However, when people reference Songtan they may also be referencing Seojeong-dong, Jisan-dong, or parts of Godeok as well. Clarifying locations with exact addresses becomes important when sharing information for locations in this area. What to Expect From Pasta Restaurants in Korea Many countries put their own spin on international cuisines, so remember that your expectations of a dish could vary due to a Korean spin or fusion of flavors. Therefore, it is always best to try and keep an open mind when trying new places. Garlic bread in Korea tends to be more sweet and may even have sugar on it. It took a bit to wrap my brain around the concept. However, when we first tried this we discovered that the idea of it was more off-putting than the taste. It is rather good, but definitely different from what we have experienced in the US. In addition, some red sauces might have gochugaru (spicy red pepper powder) added which provides an extra kick. So, if your pasta sauce or even pizza sauce has an extra kick, it might just be the Korean red pepper. Best Pasta Near Osan Air Base Keep in mind that these spots are the ones most commonly recommended by international residents who participate in the Pyeongtaek Food & Fun group. Therefore, this is not a scientifically sound survey based on empirical evidence. Above all, try each of these pasta spots near Osan Air Base and let us know your favorites. KimchiRednecks Reviews a Local Pasta Restaurant We often head out and video our food adventures at new places. Therefore , you can check out our reviews on our YouTube channel. We post content often and there are always reviews of restaurants and delivery reviews to check out. Final Notes from KimchiRednecks In conclusion, there is not a shortage of pasta options in the area for you to try. If you want to carb up on spaghetti, lasagna or other pasta, you just have to decide where to try. Many of the pasta locations also have pizza available, so if you or your significant other would prefer to have pizza while the other enjoys pasta, you are set. However, each of the locations above have their own take on Italian pasta and we enjoy getting to try the different options at each of them. Location Clarification for this List While some of the pasta recommendations provided exist within walking distance of Osan Air Base Main Gate, other locations may require a car. In this blog post, South of Seoul provides its address and phone numbers. However, use this information in either Naver Maps or Kakao Maps for the best results. Korean BBQ Recommendations in the SED near Osan Air Force Base https://blog.southofseoul.net/korean-bbq-recommendations-in-the-sed-near-osan-air-force-base/ Mon, 21 Jun 2021 00:36:07 +0000 https://blog.southofseoul.net/?p=5073 South of Seoul

If you live near Osan Air Force Base and love Korean BBQ you are going to want to try these restaurants. Who Recommended these Korean BBQ restaurants near Osan Air Force Base? The international community living near Osan Air Force Base in Sinjang-dong, Pyeongtaek shared their favorite 3 spots for Korean BBQ near Osan Air Force Base in the Pyeongtaek Food & Fun Facebook Group. The Pyeongtaek Food & Fun group is one of the largest foodie groups for English-speaking residents of South Korea. The group focuses on Food & Fun within Pyeongtaek-si and neighboring administrative districts such as Yongin, Osan, Hwaseong, Asan, and Cheonan. Anyone interested in the best food and fun in Pyeongtaek and surrounding areas is welcome to join! Each of the Korean BBQ recommendations is Galbi Restaurant It’s quite interesting to note that the three most recommended restaurants near Osan Air Force Base in Pyeongtaek are Galbi restaurants. Galbi (갈비) means ribs. That means there are restaurants the specialize in rib dishes. They may serve chicken, beef, pork, or a mix of meats. Just because it is a galbi restaurant does not mean that galbi is the only meat on the restaurant’s menu (although it might). Often times a galbi restaurant’s set menu options will include a mix of different types of meat cuts. Additionally, some of the meat might be marinated and others are marinated. The restaurant will serve you the non-marinated meats first and work toward the magical galbi. This might require a few grill changes so be prepared for that. You should also be aware that galbi at Korean BBQ restaurants will usually have a sweet marinate (but not 100% of the time). Galbi marinate ingredients include such things as garlic, onion, soy sauce, honey/corn syrup, pepper paste, sesame, etc. This is important to note for anyone with allergies. Galbi restaurants also tend to offer more unlimited banchan (Korean side dishes). You are sure to leave full and happy when you visit a galbi restaurant. 3 Korean BBQ Restaurants Near Osan Air Force Base Do you have a Korean BBQ restaurant you want to recommend near Osan Air Force Base?
