About the South of Seoul App
In 2016 volunteers at the South of Seoul blog founded the South of Seoul app as a companion piece to help make sure the maximum amount of information possible was available in the palm of your hand. In 2020 the app was completely rebuilt from the ground up to create a more streamlined user experience.
The app is free and developed and paid for by its volunteers.
The app is not financially supported by either the US government or the Korean government. It is an independent project created by volunteers to solve the problems of English language expats living in rural South Korea in the areas surrounding Pyeongtaek city. It currently is also paid for entirely by the founding volunteers.
Due to the fact that the app is built by volunteers, we don’t pretend it’s the most high-tech and fancy thing to happen since sliced bread. When it comes to gadgets, we can’t compete with Google and Facebook. However, when it comes to specific information about Pyeongtaek, we kick their butts.
Email us at app@southofseoul.net if you are ever having problems with your app. The only way we know there is an issue is if you tell us. Sometimes we need to push an update and don’t realize it or there is a particular phone type that needs some extra support. Please, let us know directly so that we can keep things running as smoothly as possible.
